soul surfer.

*the real Bethany Hamilton, and actress AnnaSophia Robb

Going to go see the movie today. I'm excited. I've always found Bethany Hamilton's story to be inspirational and I'm excited to get to hear a little more about it.. and watch some awesome surfing.

Speaking of watching awesome surfing and Bethany.. once upon a time I went to Lowers (a surf break in San Clemente, CA) with an old boyfriend. I often tagged along to watch this young man shred, and on this trip in particular he paddled out with none other than Bethany herself. It was chilling and so amazing to watch her surf, 1 arm and all, in person.

I'll never forget it.

And just in case you were wondering, I like to keep a cage between myself and the sharks. I'm on the right, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Rome.

Rome. Roam.. which ever. Ideally I'd be roaming in Rome right now, so both. I just watched Eat.Pray.Love. and had a decent idea of what to expect, however what I wasn't expecting was to have 2 of my top 5 places to see sometime in my life, to be a huge part of the movie (obviously I haven't read the book, but I should). Italy, and Bali (although I'd be content with the Eastern islands/Indo in general).

So on the blog, 'Endless Summer' continues via my mood board. Lets all pretend we're sitting in that summery-tangerine round chair, sipping a cool italian soda, under the warm breeze and Tuscan sun, with a good book. You down?

Ahh.. feeling better already. (:
Cheers.

Pillow Talk.

Seriously, this is in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. I don't know why, but growing up Doris Day has always been one of favorite people. She's definitely a role model of mine. Her movies are classics in my family's home. I have my parents to thank for my love of her. Anyway, this movie now does even more for me because she plays an interior designer and so now I feel like we're soul sisters.

Getting to the point.

I actually wanted to really TALK about PILLOWS.
I've been sleeping SO CRAPPILY (yes) lately, and I think I have my pillow to blame. I get the cheap-o's from Target and they're usually really awesome.... for about 2 months, and then they go down hill. AND FAST. So here's the deal. I'm willing to invest, so long as the thing doesn't flatten out on me (insert note: I HATE DOWN PILLOWS). And here's the predicament. Maybe I should talk to a professional, because I'm an 'in-between' sleeper. I don't sleep on my side, stomach, or back. I sleep on my stomach with a slight twist upward, or practically on my back with a slight lean to the side. Really complicated, I know. So I don't know what pillow is for me! AHHH. Help.

PS. If you haven't seen Pillow Talk, do it. NOW.

Tonight..

..is THE NIGHT!!
I think I might pee my pants in anticipation. Luckily I only have to wait till 8:45 to go and see it. See what? Are you kidding!? Oh you know....

NEW MOON!
AHH! It's going to be soooooo goood. I just KNOW it! (:

How'd I swindle an 8:45 showing, you ask? Well, people in Utah go CRAZY for cult films, and my friend's sister rented a theater. (: Why we get to see it early, I have no idea.. but I'm not complaining!

We'll chat about it tomorrow I'm sure..
Have fun trying to burn the day away until then!

Love,
Air

**edited for review: Holy, wow! Well done. Go and see it. I can't wait to take Andrew. I hated the book, and loved the movie. LOVE IT. Bravo Summit Ent & director Chris Weitz. Enough said.

PS. I Love You

You know the movie? The totally wonderfully romantic, and comedic in every way film? You know, with the dreamy Harry Connick Jr. cast as some random weirdo that makes you laugh amidst the seriousness of it all? That movie? Well, if you don't you HAVE to see it! I saw it while pregnant, so I thought that it wasn't really that intense or noteworthy (you know, with strange rushing hormones and all I figured the gushing emotions pouring out of me were fake), but I saw it again after, and felt just as struck by it! Good news, people, it's awesome! Anyway, for those of you who have seen it, how much did you LOVE the charming little New York apartment??! Did that stick out to any of you? It did to me. I loved how cozy and lived in it was. Adorably accessorized, and realistically displayed. It seemed... real. Anyway, there's a really cool blog that offers really cool insights, some of which are called "double takes." Bandelle blog, as it's called, did a "double take" of the PS. I Love You apartment! YES! I'm awfully late figuring this out, but it is worth mentioning. Here's her collage, but for the full effect you can see the post HERE.

So much goodness and inspiration, I can hardly stand it! Anyway, go rent PS. I Love You and watch it tonight. Unless you're not into really well done, sappy, romantic comedies... but even then, I think you should give it a go. (:

Jurassic Park

photo via IMDb

So I've been really craving the 1993, cutting edge, dino phenomenon lately (I worshiped this film growing up).. and so tonight I started to fulfill my hunger. I watched the first of the series after first watching the 'making of'. Man oh MAN did a lot of work and brand new technology go into that! Andrew and I were thoroughly impressed by ILM's first attempts at what would later become the staple for all visual effects, known as CGI. You and I know them as 3D special effects. Anyway, it was pretty impressive watching them incorporate some of the first ever 3D models (second to The Terminator). And not to mention, they're STILL some of the best that have ever been done! Good for them. Way to do it, and do it all the way.. and kick butt doing it. Anyway, I love the movies.. and so upon the planning of this post, and searching for images, I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WERE PLANS FOR A 4TH!!?! AM I THE ONLY HUMAN THAT DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS!?! Originally it was supposed to be released this year!! But upon the passing of Michael Crichton (the author of the novel series), the director has since tapered away from the idea and feels it's a long shot from happening. So who knows, maybe we'll see the final film, maybe not... but if it ever happens, I will be ONE HAPPY CAMPER! Here was their teaser poster..

Oh man, all I know is that in honor of the originator of these wonderful stories, I plan on reading them. Starting now. Father has them upstairs, and I plan on taking them back to Utah.

Thank you Michael for the wonderful & believable world of humans & dinosaurs.
May you rest in peace, and hopefully enjoy a ride on the back of a stegosaurus.

Bullet Ring

Now, as interesting of a piece of jewelry this is.. (I do consider myself a connoisseur of unique jewelry), I posted this with the SOLE purpose to note "Winchester." It instantly had me saying "Winchestertonfeildville, Iowa" ..haha. Name that movie my friends. (:

Again..

Yes, if you remember.. I go a little crazy when there's progress with Twilight and the saga (proof here). Well, now that the trailer's come out, it's no different. I about died when I watched it.. and then watched it 5 more times to make sure I saw everything. I think this one is going to trump the last movie, and I think I just might switch sides to being a die hard 'Jacob' fan. (: ..who knows.. anything's possible. (;

Anyway, if you didn't catch it yourself.. here it is..

(just watched it again.. and got the chills. YES!!)
November, COME FAST!

Henry Poole Is Here

This may be a tad late for a recommendation, but if you haven't seen this film.. DO. It came out some time ago (I think last September-ish..?), but just recently showed up at our Red Box, and we gave it a go, and WOW were we impressed. Now, Andrew and I are into depth, and artistic films, and this definitely fit the bill. There was so much goodness (literally) associated with this, that we really thought it was worth while. And just as a heads up, you might see 'Luke Wilson' and assume it's a comedy (and there are a few moments), but it's actually more of an inspirational drama perhaps..? Sure, something along those lines. Anyway, I am very glad to have seen it, and hopefully you'll enjoy it too. Try it on.. you might just love it.

Cheers.

Twilight

It came, it happened and it was LOVELY!
I know many of you have not yet seen it, and for you.. I will not unveil my opinions and such. But I will tell you this, I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I went in with zero expectations, and came out very happy. With any novel-to-movie screen, you loose SOO much of the depth and goodness, and there just isn't enough time in 2ish hours to display all of the intensity. (Harry Potter lovers will tell you that the movies always leave out SO MUCH of the wonderfulness, and it hold true to this film as well.) Of course I must say that they did so good with what time and depth they could show.

Loved it.. now go see it and be your own critic. :)
On a side note: My dear Aunt Shawna (whom I've mentioned before, is a dear friend of Stephenie's) was given a personal invite for both herself and Uncle Walt, to go to the Arizona red-carpet premiere. HOW AWESOME!? She loved it, and loved being able to see their good old friends Steph and Pancho again.
Jealousy! ..but we love you Aunt Shawna and are so glad you had tons of fun!
Shawna, Stephenie, Pancho, & Walt
Cheers to you Stephenie, for a job well done. :)

Up for grabs..

Question: Is anyone interested in purchasing 2 Twilight movie tickets for the 12:01am showing up here in Utah?? They're for the Thanksgiving Point theater. To be honest, the seats are smack center in the front row.. which isn't bad once the previews have rolled (I obviously didn't mind when purchasing them).

Anyway, they're up for purchase if you want 'em..
((only because I have the chance to go earlier, elsewhere with Kelsie friend.))

Email me at: aricamalace@yahoo.com
Or just leave a comment and we can work something out.

..it's in 2 days, CRAZY!
I really think I'm going to pee my pants!

It even comes with optional background Christmas music!

Weekend Wrap-up

Well, Halloween was successful. Birdie made a couple appearances to the local children she knows and loves. The kids play with her and usually interrupt us during potty breaks. Birdie likes that.. she then tinkles around their feet instead of in the bushes. Classic. Andrew and I spent the evening at Olive Garden (what can I say, I'm a consumer of both authentic, and Americanized Italian food), and then to the local dollar theater for a viewing of WALL-E. We had not yet seen it, and really enjoyed the film. No good movie goes without an underlying wonderful message or two, and WALL-E definitely pulls through.

Saturday was filled mostly with work. In between clients I was able to finish my scarflette! I think you will like it.. picture's coming soon. :) It's not as good as the example I've given previously, but definitely cute!
Anyway, quick story..
While on my way home from work, I stop at a red light, as most sane humans do. Behind me; however, was a small couple in a very large truck. While checking all my mirrors like any good driver does.. my eyes catch sight of THEM. They were FULL on making out.. seriously, going to TOWN. As cute of a couple as they were.. I was totally disturbed. I thought to myself.. eeh, young love, can't blame 'em. Until at the next red light. This time they were in front of me.. and I had no choice but to watch them go at it again. I was now embarrassed ..for them, and for myself, having no option but to watch this nonsense. I'm sure, and it's obvious.. they could care less, but what about the mom a car over with her innocent children? Or the lady on the other side going through an unwanted divorce? Well, I guess one thing's for sure.. this couple isn't the least bit shy when it comes to PDA, or concerned at how their actions make other people feel. They spent the next mile or so swerving like drunkards because they were so twitterpated. Intoxicated by each others very presence. How dangerous for all of us. Yikes.. well, there's no good transition from that, so moving on..

I hope your Sunday is as fullfilling as mine has been thus far. The rain is wonderful. Our warm and cozy basement is perfect. Could life get any better??
Love you guys.. see ya tomorrow. :)

Tickets!

So I TOTALLY just purchased my Twilight tickets... AAAH!
I'M SO EXCITED!!
And not only that, but the theater is ASSIGNED seating.. so I don't have to fight for a seat, OR wait 5 hours in line before midnight! YESS!

All's I can say is you better hurry up and get them NOW, because basically the theater was SECONDS away from being sold out! ..don't let that happen to you!

Happy Friday! :)
