Linen.

I love french linen. The look, the texture, the feel.. so yum. You know the Seinfeld where George wishes he could be draped in velvet? Well, count me in for linen. Here are some examples of why..

Yum.
Draped in linen, I tell you.
DRAPED.

Pillow Talk.

Seriously, this is in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. I don't know why, but growing up Doris Day has always been one of favorite people. She's definitely a role model of mine. Her movies are classics in my family's home. I have my parents to thank for my love of her. Anyway, this movie now does even more for me because she plays an interior designer and so now I feel like we're soul sisters.

Getting to the point.

I actually wanted to really TALK about PILLOWS.
I've been sleeping SO CRAPPILY (yes) lately, and I think I have my pillow to blame. I get the cheap-o's from Target and they're usually really awesome.... for about 2 months, and then they go down hill. AND FAST. So here's the deal. I'm willing to invest, so long as the thing doesn't flatten out on me (insert note: I HATE DOWN PILLOWS). And here's the predicament. Maybe I should talk to a professional, because I'm an 'in-between' sleeper. I don't sleep on my side, stomach, or back. I sleep on my stomach with a slight twist upward, or practically on my back with a slight lean to the side. Really complicated, I know. So I don't know what pillow is for me! AHHH. Help.

PS. If you haven't seen Pillow Talk, do it. NOW.

Make a Wish..

Leave it to Anthropologie to deliver the best packaged birthday month discount around. Every year they top themselves, and make you feel special. This year was no different. It was simply precious. Candle adorned necklace and all.. (:

So with the discount, I bought this LUSCIOUS and yummy robe. ..Seeing as I'm seen in public with my robe on a daily basis, I figured a fashionable one would definitely be a good investment. And I LOVE it. I can't wait to be 'sleepless in Seattle' with it on (My favorite duo- Tom & Meg). You know.. watching the marine layer roll in and rain, sipping my herbal tea. (:

((Can you imagine the goodness!? It's even cuter and comfier in person..))
Anyway, come do a drive by when Turd is going potty, and you'll certainly see the glory that is my new robe.

Thank you Anthropologie! You always make me feel loved. (:

Home

Andrew and I really adore our little home (it will be a sad day when we leave this charming little place), but there are times that I crave owning a home so we can do lovely things to it.. like having a beautiful stairway and simplistic entertainment center like this.. just beautiful, light, airy, and cozy!

{via 2Modern}

Oh those will be such lovely days. I can't wait to learn how to make my home even more lovely! Wait, what?.. you ask? So I've come up with my short term goals, and I think you're going to like them. They've changed around a little bit, and I think we've found the final decision. There's a school in Salt Lake known as LDSBC and turns out they have a BOMB, first class Interior Design program! So I'm running with it! After a semester at UVU, I will transfer and have the time of my life! Yes, I'm sure it will be hard, but I look forward to squeezing every drop of information out of my schooling as I can.. I can't wait! I even get to "apply" to the program with a design board, oh my YES! I'm not scared, I'm STOKED! There are design boards flowing through my brain on a daily basis, haha. I get giddy thinking of the wonderful and challenging tasks that are ahead.. and I embrace them with both arms. Cheers, to the future.. and a charming home that I will someday create. (:

Happy weekend!

PS. I Love You

You know the movie? The totally wonderfully romantic, and comedic in every way film? You know, with the dreamy Harry Connick Jr. cast as some random weirdo that makes you laugh amidst the seriousness of it all? That movie? Well, if you don't you HAVE to see it! I saw it while pregnant, so I thought that it wasn't really that intense or noteworthy (you know, with strange rushing hormones and all I figured the gushing emotions pouring out of me were fake), but I saw it again after, and felt just as struck by it! Good news, people, it's awesome! Anyway, for those of you who have seen it, how much did you LOVE the charming little New York apartment??! Did that stick out to any of you? It did to me. I loved how cozy and lived in it was. Adorably accessorized, and realistically displayed. It seemed... real. Anyway, there's a really cool blog that offers really cool insights, some of which are called "double takes." Bandelle blog, as it's called, did a "double take" of the PS. I Love You apartment! YES! I'm awfully late figuring this out, but it is worth mentioning. Here's her collage, but for the full effect you can see the post HERE.

So much goodness and inspiration, I can hardly stand it! Anyway, go rent PS. I Love You and watch it tonight. Unless you're not into really well done, sappy, romantic comedies... but even then, I think you should give it a go. (:

Cozy's Definition

..I believe is this room.
I've been doing a lot of reading, and I think I've been doing it all wrong. The lady pictured above, ..now SHE knows what's up! Oh how I would love to read kicked back like that in such a white and dreamy room. Layers.. it's the billions of textured layers that get me. ..As I drag you through my train of thought.. haha.. wait, then again.. I believe that's what brings you here. Oh man, anyway, an all white bedroom someday would be just divine. (:
See, Al. All white can be MAGICAL! I'm glad you guys went ahead and painted the dresser white w/white walls! (my parents have re-done my lil' sis' room) I bet it looks so classy!
Three cheers to white on white lusciousness!

Potholders & Coasters

Is it silly that I totally love and want these for my kitchen? Random? ..possibly. But adorable none-the-less!

These remind me of a couple quilts my mother made for Abby & I once upon a time.
Anyway, the shop owner also makes pint-sized ice cream cozy's! How clever is that?! Naturally, my hands always get cold from holding frozen things.
Good on ya, Vintage Songbird. :)

Let It Begin..

Yes. It's true. We are expecting! And yes, Ashley (sister) is also! So much fun, although.. it would be loads more fun if we were closer. :) So anywho.. let the baby posts begin! It's been hard to refrain from posting the cute stuff earlier. But I some how managed. ;)

Boy or Girl, THAT is the question..
And I love these snuggly blankies from One Lucky Baby!

Bubble Bath

..into the tub I go.
Yes, I very much so enjoy simmering in my own filth. :)
(TIP: that's why I usually rinse off after)
These would make it all the more lovely though I'm SURE.
Besides.. who wouldn't buy this for the packaging alone??
Not to mention the fact that it's got the word 'dough' on every label.
Gotta love a good, clean, crisp, & enticing logo.
..I'm sold!

'Comfies'

That's what I refer to sleepwear as. More so than PJ's or pajamas and so on. Along with my evening comfies, I could really go for a good new pair of house slippers. Considering Birdie ate the faces and hands off of my Bumbles (I still miss them). ..I haven't purchased a new pair since.
Anyway, I found a couple contenders.. all of which look as if they fill the important roll of 'extremely comfortable.'

The first two are from Bare Necessities, and the bottom two are from Zappos!

Fireplace

We don't have one, but I wanted one.
So I went out and bought one of those simulated DVD's.
It even comes with optional background Christmas music!
Photo found on Flickr

I'm going to reap the benefits right NOW..
--music and all! :)
