Swell Dame

Am I the only one who would completely change EVERYTHING about their wedding if given the chance? (minus the man I married, of course!) It's not that my taste has 'changed', which in a sense I guess it has, it's just that at the time I didn't KNOW any better and now looking back I want it completely different! Don't get me wrong, I'm more than grateful for the beautiful wedding I was so blessed to have, I just know so much more about weddings and color schemes and what not now, more so than I did then. Oh, brides.. we're so silly. Not to mention CRAZY emotions were ripping through the place, making decisions for us. Anyway, as weird as this may sound to YOU, I would have done my hair differently (one of the MANY things).. and I would have liked to wear something in it that reflects my passion for the ocean.. ie, a starfish, sand dollar, seashells, what have you. Tastefully done of course. Andrew and I are really into blues, greens, creams, and white (lots of white).. and it would have represented US much better as a couple that day. Am I weird? ..don't answer that. Regardless, I would have made it look classy.

Colors, the dress, invitations, the bridal party getup.. what have you.. the whole lot.
What would you change?

**Girls who have yet to marry: A word to the wise... REALLY THINK IT THROUGH! There are lots of decisions and unless you genuinely don't care, choose wisely, you might regret it later! LIKE US! Haha.

I know what you are talking about! I would have changed the location of our reception, the decorations and the food served. Those are the big things that I would have changed. Oh and probably my hair too! and for the record, I definitely do not think that you are weird!

I would've changed SO much too!...my hair, some picture locations, my dress, bridal party...you name it. It could all be redone better. I had no idea what I was doing! I like your idea of putting more of yourself into it...I would like that, too!

you know. i'm the exact same way. i tell aaron that all the time "can we have a second wedding!" It's true--too much going on, you just don't think.

I look at wedding dresses online all the time! hahha

hair (color and style), dress, veil, paying for a tanning bed beforehand would have been nice too, bridesmaids outfits...reception was good enough for me though

I actually think about this all the time! I had such little control over everything..the only thing I picked out was my dress and bouquet! I DEFINITELY would have changed my hair--it looked horrible! I always wished I would have put a hawaiian flower in it to represent my heritage. And I wish I put my foot down a little more because my mother-in-law totally took over my wedding. When I arrived at my reception, it was the first time seeing any of that stuff. sigh. At least I got to pick out the groom! :)

I totally feel this way too, but never told anyone (except Justin) cuz I thought I would sound ungrateful since I had two receptions. I would've worn a veil, done my hair and makeup differently, rented musical equipment or had a DJ, kept my bouquet and used a fake one for the toss, had bridesmaids/guys, choreographed our first dance, and organized the reception better (shorter, too). For the Wisconsin one, I would've said no to the honky tonk/polka band and had a real dance! I echo Erin: I ask Justin all the time if we can renew our wedding vows for our fifth anniversary so I can do it better!

I totally know what you are talking about too. I agree though that the most important part is that we chose good men and got married in the temple :)

I would have politely asked a certain girl wearing shorts, who wasn't invited to the formal event to change. ..and stop following my photog around. That is all i need to say about that.

I agree - I'd change a lot of the decorative things. My ideal color scheme totally did not happen. I almost completely let others take it over because I was in college about to graduate right before, but I am totally grateful for all they did - and still it was the most beautiful best day of my life!

As I am watching my brother and his fiance plan their wedding, I am wishing I could get married agian. to the same guy of coarse. At the time I didn't really care about the whole event. But know as I am looking back I wish I would have done a lot of it differently. I would change the dress the hair-do, the location of the reception. I am thinking outside would have been so nice. And definatly the colors. What the heck was I thinking. Then again, my favorite colors have definatly changed over time. My favorite part about the wedding was my cake, and even that I would have changed.
This is when you realize what's done is done, but you can plan an awesome ?th anniversary party(I am thinking 20th), with a beautiful dress and hair-do, and wonderful food. Everything that represents what the too of us have become together :)
